Fairy Dusk

We have had more snow here and a cloudy day while the sun hid…

Fairy Dusk

Last night the snow from somber clouds was shaken--
Midnight’s secret till the dawn broke white;
Light from snow lamped through the day forsaken
Of the sun that vanished from our sight.

Here I see the fragile dust has drifted
Down on yellow elf locks of the grass;
In amongst the tangled blades it sifted,
Glints of crystal like a shattered glass.

Here it brings a fairy twilight dreaming,
Shadows blue upon the tousled gold;
Fairy lights at midday lift their gleaming
In a twilight that is never old.

Wow, this is amazing poetry. I love the dreaminess and the rhythm of it. Thanks for writing!
