From an Afternoon in Early Winter
From this afternoon…
Trio
In the golden afternoon, the weaving
Of the slender threads sways gently;
Breeze by breeze and thread by thread it glistens,
Passing through the deepening rays of sunlight;
Gold by gold and silver upon silver,
Gleams the sun on web tied to the grasses,
Dreaming through the days of early winter,
Gossamer and breeze and sunshine dancing.
