Song of the Man in the Moon

achristinemyers.substack.com

Sing a song of silver moon,
Sing a song of sky;
Still it rises late or soon,
While the old man in the moon
Blinks with just one eye.

Sing a song of half a moon
Just a lune of white;
Does the old man hum a tune--
Serenade from midnight moon--
Lullabies at night?

Sing a song of ancient moon
Softly and then mark;
Can you hear the old man croon
Tunes an eon old, the moon
Heard once in the dark.
