The new moon has grown to a solid, beautiful crescent now. Last night I watched it sinking above the rim of nearby slopes.

The Sailing of the Moon

The moon sinks
With a curve like a sail
Bellied out in the wind
On invisible seas.
Westward she sails,
Ever westward,
Over the mountains’ edge,
Over the rim of earth
Like ancient mariners
Following stars to realms
Beyond…
