This week I have only a couple of tidbits of poetry to offer. I’ve been overwhelmed with caring for a very sick horse, a situation compounded by my own descent into a particularly savage migraine that is still not entirely gone.
It’s so beautiful right now, but I just haven’t been able to compose poetry, though I’ve tried! And I hope that I’ll be able to eventually complete the sonnet I started while down in the canyon worried sick about Two Step through the small hours of the morning. I’m glad to say he’s recovering well, which is the only thing that matters at the moment, though it would help to get rid of this lingering migraine altogether.
The full moon has been gorgeous. I’ve watched it as I’ve trudged up and down the hill at night. I’ve also used its light while managing to get medication into an equine mouth that was not entirely cooperative.
That’s been the mix for this past week! I hope this coming week will be considerably more peaceful and comfortable!

Orion arrives
bringing new skies. Suddenly
summer is over.
Wishing all of my readers a lovely first week of October!
After all the combined pain of you and your horse maybe you can write a poem called "Two Step".
Orion belongs in poetry 💙...I wrote a line in a poem recently that I’ll release this month that included him. Beautiful Haiku!
I hope all goes well with your horse!
