Do not remember that the sun will die
Some eons hence, but memorize instead
The beauty of the blueness of the sky.

It is our wisdom as we stand here high
Above the valley’s weary, plodding tread
To not remember that the sun will die

But to remember how the white clouds fly,
And how their purple shadows paused or sped
