Amy, your poems paint the loveliest picture of the desert....enriching my mental images of dry, hot and dusty Arizona to a place alive with color and scent. Beautiful!
Just enchanting to find an English-traditional lyrical/pastoral poem celebrating spring ... in the American southwest! Why ever not? And you make it work so well....
Very glad to hear that the difficult calls you made led to good news. What a relief.
I have to laugh because, yes, indeed I've been submerging myself in the pastoral English (and Irish a bit) poets lately. It will come out in my own work, and it is fun to draw the mesquites and such into that tradition. I love those poets and their singing quality.
Lush wordplay here! A very enjoyable read. Spring all around.
So glad you enjoyed it, Mark! Summer is overtaking spring here faster than I can write! ;-)
It is always a day-brightener for me to read your latest poetry. You are a gifted poet.
Thanks so very much, Derek! It's always a delight to find your comments on my posts as well! :)

Thanks so much, Jody! It's a place of such marvelous, magnificent contrasts!

What a beautiful talent you have for wordplay and prose
Thank you very much--very glad you enjoyed it!
Love that "black and tawny" name for our little buddies.
Ha! Glad you like it, Weston! I'm happy to say there are definitely more of them around than when we first moved here.
