I have just these two haiku to post today. I keep trying to finish a slightly longer poem, and it keeps eluding me. This is all the more aggravating as I don’t expect it to be a piece of unusual excellence—it is simply dragging its feet, and I can’t seem to hurry the process… or work on anything else at the moment. I would blame the muse, but I honestly believe it’s the fault of the poem!
Luckily a couple of haiku have managed to slip in edgewise!
So here is a glimpse from the garden.
A swift emerald
set in among the coral:
the spring air trembles.
For those unfamiliar with desert settings, I will add that there is no thrill quite like watching a hummingbird among flowering aloes.
And here is last night’s sky—no moon, just the enormous brilliance of stars.
The brazen night sky
is a vast ringing of stars
silent carillon
I missed you
I've missed you too, dear Chen. The past two months have been pretty bleak here, so I haven't been able to interact much. I know you sent me a DM earlier and now I've lost it in the stack of notifications. I'll get back to you shortly though! Much love!
