You're one of the most gracious people I've met, Christine-and I admire your poetry and your work, and am plagued by feeling it's underappreciated. I want for thousands to see it, to read it, to feel it. Pity I am not a publisher and don't know anybody who's related to one. Sorry for the rant-it doesn't fit the beauty of the poem, at all. But it had to be said, somewhere....
You are so kind and thoughtful, Chen! And I'm so happy you enjoy and appreciate my work--it means a great deal! I'm the worst at promoting my poetry or my newsletter--or anything else I do--I find it quite confusing, to be honest. Thank you for all your encouragement!
I do like that image of the torn fragment half furled, so tantalizing and evocative. I don't get jealous much but....I'll never be able to write like that.
Beautiful
Many thanks, Mary!
Incredibly beautiful.

Thank you, Christine-just speaking the truth. Sometimes it's just hard not to.
And I know, about self-promoting....I mean, I feel I know...
I consider myself very lucky to have found you and your work. I look forward to it, always.
If I could like this twice I would. Consistent metre, beautiful imagery, and a subtle train of thought that requires a closer second reading.
Many thanks--very glad you enjoyed it, Thomas! I love to work with meter as it brings poetry so much closer to music.

A million thanks, Weston! How does one take a compliment like that from an able poet?! ;-) So very glad you enjoyed it!
We all have our strengths, if we’re fortunate. I’ll take “an able poet” to my grave.
"Just a sonnet for today's post..."
Christine, the only other sonneteer I know who writes with this kind of eloquence is poet Malcolm Guite in the UK--an apt comparison if I might say.
The beauty in your phrases makes me sigh at their quiet presence on the (virtual) page.
So very glad you enjoyed the sonnet! Thank you so much! :)
